Pax Christi Naples Activates Emergency Plans

Dear Friends,

In his address to the nation this evening, President Bush has made it clear that he will move forward with his illegal, and immoral war against Iraq.

Under the circumstances, we are hereby activating our Emergency Plans.

In the difficult days ahead our thoughts and prayers will be focused on the people of Iraq, of Palestine, and the Muslim world as a whole. Let us also pray for the people of the United States that we, as a nation, will heed the Lenten call to repentance, to turning away from the ways of violence and domination and instead embrace the God of peace.

We must not despair. We must not surrender our efforts to the inevitable war mentality that will surely arise in the coming hours and days. We must remain strong in our resolve, committed in our actions, and prophetic in our words and deeds. 

At this critical moment, we urge all people of conscience to oppose this illegal war of aggression by participating in the following action:
