911 DAYS GALLERY EXHIBITION, PANEL DISCUSSION, PUBIC FORUM AND PEACE VIGIL
March 9 will mark 911 days since the September 11, 2001 attack on the WTC and Pentagon. The panel discussion, public forum and gallery exhibition will focus on the fundamental changes that have occurred in our ways of thinking and acting, in our personal, regional, national and international relationships, and in our perception of self, security and identity. An opening reception for the exhibition “911 Days: A Dialogue with Words and Images” will be held from 6-7 pm in the Library Gallery. Co-curated by Dr. Jim Brock, twelve writers and artists were invited to respond with words and images intended to promote reflection and response from the viewer. Notebooks will be available for visitors to record their thoughts and engage in dialogue. Following the reception, FGCU will host the panel discussion and public forum “911 Days: What Have We Learned?” 7-9 pm, followed by a peace vigil. Pax Christi (and Fouad) will speak on the panel and, along with Fr. James Isaacs, lead the peace vigil.
