Dear Ms. Nancy Pelosi:
We can compromise and work together is the newest media ploy? Don't mention impeachment? I totally disagree. The seismic elections of this month must not be botched with spinelessness! Massive crimes have been committed. Ms. Pelosi must not appease this Nemean lion but slay it.
Our administration has ridden roughshod on our Constitution as though it were a worthless artifact of yore. Checks and balances foundational for democracy were hobbled for six long years. So irresponsible and massive are the crimes that the perpetrators have changed the laws to avoid being held accountable for crimes against humanity. So irresponsible that their failure to act to mitigate global warming endangers the very survival of human life on our planet. Hundreds of thousands of people are unnecessarily dead, many more hundreds of thousands maimed and wounded. The incredible debt undermines our economy and will plague our children.
This is not the time to let bygones be bygones. It is time to assert that criminal behavior in high places will be punished even more mercilessly than petty crimes on our streets and in our neighborhoods. The world stage is no place for audience amnesia. Do not let them forget. Ms. Nancy has been endowed with Herculean powers and must be exhorted to use them.
John
P.S. you do know of whom I speak: Mr. Bush and Ms. Condoleeza Rice, Mr. Dick Cheney, Mr. Donald Rumsfeld, Mr. Colin Powell, Mr. Karl Rove and Mr. Paul Wolfowitz (and their minions, I Lewis Libby, Ari Fleischer, John Ashcroft (replaced by Harvard-educated son of migrant farm workers Alberto Gonzales who called the anti-torture Geneva Convention "quaint"), Richard Perle, Kenneth Adelman, Stephen Hadley, Mr. Zalmay Khalilzad, Douglas Feith, William Luti, State Department spokesman Richard Boucher, and James Woolsey), TX Senator Tom DeLay (the hammer). [Cheney, Card, Rove, Bartlett, Libby and, on foreign policy issues, national security adviser Stephen J. Hadley; after Rove, Golten, Gillespie, Mehlman]
Bill Pryor, [ALA Attorney Gen. & "Catholic"], Dov Zakheim, the Pentagon's chief financial officer, as well as American Enterprise Institute's Laurie Mylroie
We now know that a blueprint for the creation of a global Pax Americana was drawn up for Dick Cheney (now vice-president), Donald Rumsfeld (defence secretary), Paul Wolfowitz (Rumsfeld's deputy), Jeb Bush (George Bush's younger brother) and Lewis Libby (Cheney's chief of staff). The document, entitled Rebuilding America's Defences, was written in September 2000 by the neoconservative think tank, Project for the New American Century (PNAC).
