Well, you've done it. You, NDN, and right-wing responders have won.
This forum for expressing free opinions in a democratic way has been polluted by the clicking of "shut up."
The disagreement is banished to the region of Limbo by the tyranny of the majority--even though NDN readers count 3 to 7 rationale to eliminate opinion. Four people vote and the comment is eliminated. It's very like Mr. Bush's tactic to force protesters against his appearances to fenced-in arrest areas. You should be very happy that you have the hypocritical espousal of free speach at the same time that you shove off to the side citizens' political protest.
You've conquered and can bask in your Limbaugh-land ether. I quit. Happy?
What I said was:

My deepest regrets to the Caldwells and to those who knew and loved Eric. His sacrifice was a noble one.
However, Mr. Caldwell says, "if the U.S. pulled out troops now, there would be an even bigger, more bloody war in the Middle East." That might be. But the United States troops wouldn't be killing, getting wounded and dying in the midst of it.
Our politicians made a terribly bad decision.

By eliminating or suppressing this opinion, you are forcing in Murdoch-style the single view that everyone must support the war effort. You want to sacrifice more of our youth on the altar of "patriotism"? My compassion is excited with contemplating what happens after death to a young, unrepentant soldier. You don't believe or care. So take your glory now.
In the America I grew up in, minority opinion was protected. |
