Sad to lose a good Harvard man and keep a bad Army one. I know Dr. Williams won't demand a spoils system take-over of Knoxville. Reconstituting two high schools is the announced goal of this TN school district. From the short blurb online it seems like Knox County Schools is under the spell of Daggetteering. Willard's slogans are "reinventing our nation's high schools" and "reinvent 9th grade." Aside from such NCLB-enthusiasmus triumphantus, the goal calling for "a more ambitious academic agenda for high school students" sounds like something Dr. Williams would find attractive--while we at CCPS free-fall in the opposite direction.
