I doubt that our system of justice will penetrate these blockheads. We speak daggers into their ears but they're deaf as granite. We cannot wring the stone hearts of the Rockfordians and their supporters.

But no one in our community should ever support the referendum--or anything else proposed to give any more money or power to these cruel, pitiless, rock-hard masters. They have violated a core belief in Naples.

Their choice to dismiss this whole workforce has set everyone in the community with any conscience against them. Look at them weeping!

Go ahead, Colonel Thompson. Cut the music, art, sports, clubs, AP and Jr. ROTC classes even more than you already have. Declare an emergency and cut everyone's salary. Fire 80 employees that are "mere" assistants. Trample upon our ESE students. Stop paying the district's health insurance for employees. Suspend all contracts with all unions. Stop contributing to FISA and drop all saved sick leave days. Replace all the locals with cronies. Rescind the class size amendment. Nuke the school district.

All these anti-Hispanics, all these anti-teachers, all these English-onlys, all these gatorhaters and taxcutlovers, all these unionhaters will rejoice.

Then what? Your rock-hard hearts will never stop?

In the end you'll pay the piper. Hold your victory rock concert in the cemetery. But Naples will probably not issue an exception; our cemetery doesn't allow headstones.
